We update this web-site at least weekly and sometimes
several times a day.
However, to increase speed [and reduce band-width], web browsers often do not
update information each time it is accessed. Instead, they save previous information for the site in the storage of their
computer or device [called cache]. This often result is your viewing old information and not new information.
Examples for our shop
have been when people come in for specials that no longer exist. That is because even though the information has been removed
from our site, their browser still has it on the local cache and displays old, incorrect information!
Another example is the
reverse, where people do not know of something that is new on a site because they are looking at the old information from
their local storage.
This
problem can be corrected in two ways:
- On an individual page basis, press the refrest button/icon on your browser.
This will force the reloading of the information from the web instead of using information stored in your local cache.
- Set
the parameters in your browser for storing and using cache. For Internet Explorer it is located under Tools, Internet Options,
General tab, Temporary Internet Files Settings.
Also, many pages look at your Regional Settings and generate the
date and time based on Greenwich Mean Time. If your regional settings are not correct, then you time will be off in
terms of hours. This can be corrected by setting your time zone to the correct one that you are in.
