Regular Delivery Information
We currently have a one and a half week backlog.
The backlog is an estimate. It is
based on our current backlog and staffing.
We are unusual as we employ a dedicated,
provessional staff of long-arm quilters to operate our two machines six days a week.We averaged 12 quilts completed per week.
Your wait could vary because of various
factors:
-
Quilts requiring unique designs developed by us may
take a few days longer.
-
The time quilts are on our Statler Stitcher/Gammill
long-arm machines for stitching has varied from 2 hours to 5 days.
-
The more patterns and detail requested on a quilt increases
the time it takes to be stitched.
-
Larger quilts take longer than smaller quilts. Thus the delay varies according to the size of the quilts waiting to
be stitched.
Also, there may be quilts taking advantage of our expedite service that have
not come in at this time.
Call Ahead To Submit Your Quilt
Because
of the above, before a quilt is assigned a position in the long-arm queue [line for quilting], Ruth Grihalva, Ruth Schmitzer,
or Rick Grihalva must physically review the quilt submitted to make sure that:
-
You can choose the designs for your quilt from those available or that we suggest.
-
You can make sure that the thread used will blend the quilt and the piecing to your satisfaction.
-
All of the design considerations are made and agreed upon to your satisfaction;
Please call
ahead or make an appointment so that you can be sure one of those specialists are available when you are here.
Self-Check-In To Submit Your Quilt
In
the event that you have not called ahead or made an appointment and a specialist is not available to check in you quilt,
we do have a self-check-in available. However,
this is provided as a convenience and is not desireable as the necessary "transfer of knowledge" from the specialist to the
quilt owner does not take place and the quilt owner can be making uninformed decisions.
Note
that we have discovered that regardless of the amount of checking done in advance, there are many situations that can go undetected.
Examples of these are excess fullness, weak seams, "square-ness", and the like. If these conditions appear, your quilt may
be delayed until the problems are addressed and corrected.
Expedited Service
We do offer an expedite service for
an extra fee. Please see the long-arm services brochure for specifics. The purpose of this fee is to assure quilters that
their quilt is completed by a specific date, Expedited items are "bumped" to the top of the queue/line ahead of
non-expedited items.
If you are selecting regular service,
the estimated completion date is an estimate. Even if it appears that there is adequate time to get your quilt for that special
occasion, regular service gets them done in order. If you have a special date, make sure and expedite your order.
We reserve the right to not expedite
quilt due to delivery promises [such as the Christmas Cutt-Off] and other factors.
