We have been refining our use of newsletters, e-mails, and the web, and
using these media in new ways. The reasons for this is that we have found that newsletters, although a good medium of communication,
is costly, slow [newsletter notification lagged over one week behind email and web communication], and limited [as you
must plan to fill or cut to page increments]. We have also found that response to newsletters is measured in days whereas
the email responses are measured in minutes.
We are trying to achieve is a balance between the media. We would like
all who have access to email to use it, with further detail and pictures on our web-page. Printed newsletters will still be
sent to those who do not have access to the web or those who have changed email address without notifying us. The printed
newsletter can also be picked up in our shop.
The newsletter will be shorter, limited to 4 pages [1 piece of paper] with
shorter articles and fewer pictures. It will still be in color. People will be directed to the shop or the web for more details.
