Quilt Pink

A heartfelt and HUGE thank you to everyone that participated in our Quilt Pink event, held September 30^th in conjunction with Better Homes & Gardens American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine. The event raises money for the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

In six hours the participants and volunteers pieced 355 6½” blocks either purchased by the participant or donated earlier by individuals who couldn’t attend the event.

Forever In Stitches arranged the blocks into two quilt tops. The queen size and the full size (shown at left), were long armed and then bound. Both quilts will be on display at the store until November 30^th before being shipped to Better Homes & Gardens for auction.

Starting in February, watch quiltpink.com to see and/or bid on any of the quilts produced by quilters all over the US and abroad.

Forever In Stitches also sponsored Mrs. Boehm’s 3^rd & 4^th grade from Trinity Lutheran School in Jenera, OH in making a Pink Quilt. They used the same block as our other two quilts, except their blocks where enlarged to 9½”.

The children sewed the blocks in the church basement with the guidance of mothers and other volunteers. Once the top was pieced the class took a field trip to our store this past Monday, where they all participated in using the long-arm and its computer to start the quilting on their project quilt.

Pirate Quilt

Congratulations to Tim Falk of Bluffton for winning the Pirate Football Quilt. Tickets were sold at Forever In Stitches and by the cheerleaders at all Bluffton HS home games. The raffle raised $404 for the Bluffton HS Football Cheerleaders.

Bluffton Holiday Open House

Thimbleberries Club 2007

This year’s 2007 Thimbleberries “House and Garden” Big Club Quilt is very beautiful. It comes in two color ways: the “Light & Bright” and the “Warm & Cozy”. The quilts are 96” x 118” (queen-size).

Club members are provided with:

· All fabric for the blocks, sashings, borders and bindings of the Big Club Quilt.

· Four quarterly project patterns, which include the instructions for the Big Club Quilt.

· 12 monthly newsletters.

· 12 additional project sheets.

In-Store Club membership requires:

· An initial, non-refundable payment of $25 is due at registration. You can register on-line.

· A monthly payment of $16 is due when you pick up your packet.

· Packets may be picked up any time within the month in question. (There are no late or substitute fees)

· You agree to complete the club upon making the initial payment as we will have purchased the fabric and pattern booklets for you in advance.

Web Store Up & Running

For those of you who like to browse the web, Forever In Stitches has a web store [See link on our home page fisllc.com].

However until recently there wasn’t much to view. As of October 1^st, we have loaded 16 full collections into the web store and every new collection received from now on in our physical store will be added to the web.

Spring Challenge

Now that the days are getting colder and darker earlier, lets get through winter fast by thinking of SPRING!!!!

Forever In Stitches announces our “Hop into Spring” challenge.

$50 gift certificates will be awarded to two winners. One voted on by employees of FIS and one by customer vote. 2^nd place customer vote will be awarded if Employee & Customer’s #1 same quilt. Winners will be announced Sat March 31,2007, and entries may be picked up starting April 3, 2007.

The rules are as follows:

· Vertical Style Sampler Wallhanging (Must be longer than it is wide), 18” or less width, 36” or less length

· Must contain ALL of the challenge fabric pieced into the top, not appliquéd.

· Must contain at least one rabbit

· Quilt does NOT have to be quilted and bound.

· Quilt must contain Two 9-Patch blocks (of any size)

· One entry per person

· Owner’s name and phone number must be attached to the back of quilt.

· Entry deadline is Sat. March 1, 2007

Newsletter Mailing Update

Thank you to all of you that responded to our mailing address clean-up campaign. Our initial goal was to identify customers who enjoy reading our newsletters and wished to continue receiving it.

We do recognize that many of you do not have access to computers and/or Email. To all who read and enjoy our newsletters it is available for US Mail Delivery, In Store Pick-up, or Email Delivery.

Year-End Sale

Each business day during the entire month of December we will be having 10 – 25% off specified fabric groups/collections. Stop in often and check at the register as each day the percentage and groups/collections change.

Long arm – Help us Help You

When you are ready to bring a quilt to FIS , please call ahead to make an appointment. It doesn’t have to be a specific time, hour ranges are fine (e.g. 10-12am, 3 -5pm etc.) Your quilt can only be checked in by one of our quilting specialists and we don’t want you to have to make a 2^nd trip back if one is not available.

Also our long-arm services brochure was updated. We made the following change:

Thread charges is now based on a “per bobbin” usage rate, previously a flat $3.50 rate was used.

Where did the training room go?

The answer is - Right beside us. We’ve taken over the office space connected to our building and moved the training room and Rick Grihalva’s office over there. It’s much quieter away from the Longarm machines and larger too.

Eventual we plan to cut an archway in the wall to connect the space. When scheduled for a class, we recommend parking in the back parking lot and using the back entrance to the training facility.
