Holiday Hours Reminder

Our normal hours will be in effect throughout the holiday season with the following exceptions:

December 25  & 26 (Closed)

January 1 & 2, 2007 (Closed)

Thimbleberries Club 2007

It’s Here!!!  The first quarter Thimbleberries “House & Garden” fabric has arrived, so TB Club 2007 members can begin picking up their Club packets starting January 3rd.

Also the complete “Big Quilt” store sample (Done in Warm & Cozy Colorway) is completed and is now on display at our shop.  Memberships are still available until 01/31/07.

New “Ready, Set, Sew” Class

By popular request, a new class is being offered in January & February that’s designed for anyone interested in sewing and/or block piecing that have little to no experience using a sewing machine.

This 3-hour class costs $15.00 and will cover the basic operation of a sewing machine, an introduction to rotary cutting, and the completion of a nine patch block.  If you have your own sewing machine, bring it to class to get familiarized with it, otherwise you can use one of our classroom sewing machines.

Come and see how fun sewing/quilting can be! Children with a desire to learn sewing are definitely welcome too. (Parents wishing to attend with their child can for ½ price.)  No other supplies needed.

2007 Discount Opportunities

The VIP Card program for 2006 expires at 5:30pm on 12/30/2006.

As for the new year 2007,  instead of any type of discount card system we are planning several alternate programs, that don’t involve customers having to remember to carry cards around with them.

·         Watch for random weekly specials e.g. “Friend”ly Discount”,  “Pop O’ Matic % off”,  “Discount Draw”

“Right place/ Right Time”

and many more will be offered through-out the year.

·         We also plan to keep our pricing steady as many fabric manufacturers are currently raising their prices.

New “Novice Quilters”  BOM

Have you ever thought you’d like to try your hand at piecing quilt blocks, but didn’t know where to start?

Forever In Stitches is announcing a new Block Of the Month [BOM] Program.  This BOM is reserved for novice/beginner quilters and is a great way to get a feel for quilting.  Sign up yourself or encourage friends, parents, children , siblings, co-workers etc… to participate with you.

The Block of the Month program is where you 1)Come monthly to our shop,  2)Pick up a block’s fabric & pattern, and 3)Piece the blocks at home.

A mock-up of the blocks are shown (at right) but specific fabrics have yet to be chosen.

BOM Rules:

·         This BOM is reserved for novice quilters, (or if a duo/group is participating together, at least one member must be a novice quilter)

·         The program will run for 6 months (March – August 2007)  with two identical blocks being made each month.  Registration begins January 1st.

·         The Month’s block can be picked any day of that month.

·         Blocks do not need to be completed for the subsequent blocks to be picked up.

·         Program costs $4.00 a month per block.  If block(s) picked up within the specified month, the 2nd block is free.

·         If a duo/group is participating, all members must be present for the initial Block #1 sign-up (unless any are 18 years old or younger).

·         Free 3-hour Demonstration of block layout options, and proper sashing, border & binding techniques for members will be scheduled throughout August & September.

Long Arm Quilting Status

A huge “Thank you” goes to our Long arm Machine Operators:  Ruth Schmitzer, Candy Freels & Jolene Oxender, who in the last three months of this year have completed 130 quilts.

This allowed many, many more of your quilts to be completed in time to make holiday gifts.  This also opened up our quilt back-log so we currently have about one week turn-around on quilts.

Jinny Beyer “Around the World” Quilt

New Type of Batting

We are now stocking an additional  type of batting from Quilter’s Dream Company, called “Dream Puff”.

“Dream Puff” is a higher loft light-weight polyester batting.  It’s unique in that it’s the first higher loft batting we’ve seen with a uniform thickness which creates a more uniform stitch tension.
